FEATURES |
Easy installation and replacement. |
Meets environmental compliance requirements. |
Kiln seal shoes made self-lubricating due to presence of graphite granules. |
Shoes prevent leaves from rubbing against the kiln shell, eliminating the probability of grooving. |
Can be customized for any application or configuration. |
Shoes lock overlapping plates together, keeping out air along the entire overlap zone. |
Can be retrofitted to any rotary calciner, cooler, dryer or kiln, regardless of original equipment manufacturer (OEM). |
Metal wear bands can be installed onto the shell's riding surface to minimize degeneration of "wear shoes." |
Available in various alloy combinations, based upon application and operating conditions. |
Heat-resistant springs withstand higher temperatures and axial movements with maximum effectiveness. |
Made of heat-resistant materials that contain NO asbestos or refractory fibers. |
Available 45° to the shell axis, which provides a more neutral or "relaxed" position that accommodates a greater amount of radial movement or "run-out" during operation. |
Adjusts automatically to most shell runouts. |
Overlapping plates made of stainless steel spring stock. |
Sealing edge of each plate
fitted with a sintered metal shoe (similar to brake shoes on DC-10 aircraft). |

Lubrication |
Initially, the shoes are to be coated with a high-temperature lubricant furnished with the seal. After break-in, molybdenum disulfide lubricants may be used to extend the life of the shoes. |
